A TikTok sensation, a platform-breaking baddie and a triumphant ode to 80s culture, fashion and fandom – Netflix Original, Stranger Things has been summer 2022’s hottest series – and this winter, one of the show’s most beloved actors will be taking the heat off in chilly Alberta as part of the Fargo season 5 cast.
Know for his role as Steve Harrington (the jerky boyfriend turned unlikely hero), Joe Keery will hit the screen as Gator Tillman in the popular anthology, famously filmed in and around Calgary.
Keery, of course, is not the first notable artist to sign on to this particular project.

Previous seasons have seen the likes of Kirsten Dunst (Marie Antoinette, Bring It On), Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kinobi, Moulin Rouge), and Martin Freeman (The Hobbit, Sherlock), with Jon Hamm (Mad Men, Top Gun: Maverick) Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) and Jennifer Jason Leigh (Atypical) confirmed as the upcoming leads.
In addition to Keery being added to the show’s IMDB, Lamorne Morris (New Girl), and Richa Moorjani (Never Have I Ever) so keep an eye out!
Unfortunately, Producer Noah Hawley, has stayed pretty hush-hush about the plot, only sharing its official logline (“When is a kidnapping not a kidnapping, and what if your wife isn’t yours?”) and that it’ll take place in 2019 – but we’ll keep you all updated as more information comes to light!
With a cast like this and a reputation for bringing laughs, surprises and having an excellent team of writers we can’t wait to see what FX has up their sleeve.
Here’s to an exciting winter! It’ll only be a matter of time until we get more information about Fargo Season 5 filming in Alberta.
