Need to drive through the inner city this afternoon? You might need to find an alternate route! As confirmed on the official Downtown Calgary Twitter account, a major production will be filming in the SW and here’s what we know.
Starring Jon Hamm (Mad Men, Top Gun: Maverick) Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) and Joe Keery (Stranger Things), popular anthology series Fargo will be shooting its 5th season in and around the area until April 2023.
As of right now, we know very little about the plot – only that it will take place in 2019 and involve a kidnapping of sorts, but we still can’t wait to see our city back on the small screen!
🎬Filming for Fargo will be happening in #downtowncalgary tomorrow! another big production happening in our city is exciting! They will be filming on 5 Ave SW between 5 ST & 4 ST SW from 8 am – 6 pm. There will be parking restrictions enacted during this filming. See below. 🔽 pic.twitter.com/38pZQ6AZX3

What we do know, however – is that between 8 am and 6 pm today, parking will not be available on 5th Avenue SW between 5th Avenue and 4th Street SW – so take note.
The public is asked to plan accordingly and remain respectful while the crew does their thing – but you know the drill!
it wasn’t long ago that The Last Of Us was also filming its first season in town, so please – continue to exercise caution, kindness and your eyes!
You never know who or what you might see when you’re in Downtown Calgary – it might just be Steve Harrington!
