The charming lakeside community of Cowichan is a must-visit this season, with cozy cabins, historic landmarks, and plenty of outdoor fun to check out.

This one’s a trek, but the incredible fall foliage, scenic views, and historical charm make the mileage so worth it. Known as one of the coolest towns in North America, Fernie has a tone to offer roadtrippers, from ancient waterfalls and caves to pretty lakeside spots like Silver Springs.

Goldstream Park boasts majestic 600-year-old trees, powerful waterfalls, vibrant wildflowers, and a river that meets the sea – and that’s just for starters. Hikers can explore an extensive network of trails that cater to all levels of outdoor enthusiasts.

Located on the shores of Kootenay Lake, Nelson is a town with tons of character and charm, which can largely be attributed to its bustling local arts scene. Surrounded by the Selkirk Mountains, you’ll definitely have beautiful views to admire while you peruse the local downtown shops.

Situated in the historic village of Coombs on Vancouver Island, the Old Country Market was created in the early ’70s by Norwegian immigrants Kristian and Solveig Graaten. In typical Norwegian style, the market was built directly into the hillside with a sod roof, which would later become home to a gaggle of famous rooftop goats, which you can visit from May through late October every year.

Just a 90-minute drive from Vancouver, Harrison Hot Springs is a classic road trip destination for a reason. Whether it’s lounging at the mineral pools at the Hot Springs Resort & Spa, or golfing at The Falls Golf Club, you’ll find plenty of fall fun here.
