Looking for your new favourite place to relax and recharge? A new contrast therapy spa has opened in Edmonton, offering hot and cold therapy, massage treatments, and facials.
Elemental Recovery and Spa opened in early May. The wellness space is owned and operated by two Canadian Infantry veterans and focuses on natural health, relaxation, and recovery.
The spa’s signature experience is its contrast therapy circuit, where guests can alternate between the heat of a sauna and hot pool before cooling off in a cold plunge.
A comfortable lounge area with chaise chairs offers a quiet place to unwind between cycles.
Guests booking a therapy session are provided with a robe, two towels, and flip-flops.
Sessions cost $65 for two hours on weekdays and $75 on weekends. Those looking for a quicker visit can book a one-hour session for $35 on weekdays or $40 on weekends.
In addition to the circuit, the spa offers registered massage therapy in private treatment rooms, as well as facial treatments, using natural and organic skincare products.
If you’re feeling a little peckish after (or during) your session, the spa also serves a curated selection of snacks, functional beverages, botanical teas, and other wellness-focused refreshments.
Contrast therapy has taken off in popularity in recent years, with many people turning to alternating hot and cold temperatures for benefits such as relaxation, muscle recovery, and improved circulation.
Alberta has seen a growing number of thermal spas open that offer hot and cold therapy, including another major addition on the way with Scandinave Spa set to open its Edmonton location in 2028.
Address: 16767 127th St. NW
