Of course, because it all kind of happened under the cloak of the pandemic you may have missed a few announcements, so we bring you a recap of sorts. Here are some exciting new restaurants you have to check out on 17th Avenue!

HANKKI

The more the merrier! Tasty Korean street food resto, Hankki has opened a second Calgary location, and for those who have never been – you are in for a treat! This contemporary Korean street food spot is best known for their corndogs and their ‘cupbops,’ which is essentially a built our own adventure bowl.

Jia Jia is a brand new Asian street food joint with standards higher than the Bow Building. From unreal menu items like the Macau pork chop burger, the Singapore style curry vermicelli, bubble tea and a variety of tasty shareables, we can almost guarantee that no one will leave this place hungry.

CHEMICAL STEVE’S BEER JOINT

Although this opened back in October, our semi-lockdown hit shortly after and not many people got the chance to hit up this budget-friendly spot. At Chemical Steve’s on 17th, everything is $6 or less, meaning you can drink more and cry less the next morning when you look at your credit card statement. If these guys believe in anything, it’s that a good time doesn’t have to come at a hefty price and we stan the hell out of that mentality.

YYC PASTA BAR

Pull out those holiday stretchy pants, Calgary, you’re going to be needing them. YYC Pasta bar opened on 17th avenue not too long ago and wouldn’t you know it, it’s actually the very first of its kind. Apparently, before these guys came along Calgary didn’t actually have a make-your-own pasta bar. With freshly made noodles and sauces of every kind, you have to check them out!
