This Ontario limestone quarry is surrounded by 40 foot cliffs

One of Ontario’s ultimate summer destinations is officially opening for the summer this weekend. The Elora Quarry Conservation Area is gearing up to welcome visitors for the season and here’s what to know.

Mark your calendars for June 22nd as Elora Quarry Conservation Area will welcome outdoor lovers to its 40-foot-high cliffs and sandy beach.

According to Grand River Conservation Authority, the Elora Quarry Conservation Area is a two-acre former limestone quarry with massive cliffs that encircle a small beach that’s perfect for a little swim.

It’s important to note that no jumping, diving or climbing is permitted from the cliffs. Safety first.

As it’s a popular summer spot, expect hundreds of visitors to grace its sandy shores, and explore its one-kilometre trail.

That being said, this day-use property has a capacity limit of 300 people or 150 vehicles per time slot.

To secure your spot, there is an online ticket system that allows you to purchase your tickets ahead of time.

There are two four-hour time slots to choose from, per day. The first slot is from 10 AM to 2 PM and the second from 3 PM to 7 PM.

Tickets are released online through the online ticket platform each Friday afternoon for the following week, per the conservation authority.

A $15 parking pass must be purchased for all vehicles entering the site, too. You must purchase these tickets online as walk-ins are not allowed.

Tickets for non-members are $11 for those aged 13 to 64, $5.75 for children ages 4 to 12 and $8 for adults with disabilities or who are 65 years and older.

Get your tickets ahead of schedule – you don’t want to miss out!
