Roll out: A vibrant fleet of shared E-bikes will hit the streets of Calgary this week

We think we can speak on behalf of most when we say that Calgary loves e-scooters, but this spring – a new method of transportation will be rolling into town!

This afternoon, Neuron Mobility announced that on June 1st, the well-known company will be launching a fleet of 100 shared e-bikes for busybodies to use and enjoy this sunny season.

With fancy features like integrated helmets, geofencing control, an emergency button, topple detection, voice guidance, and even a “follow my ride” function, these bad boys are supped up and ready to take Calgary by storm.

“Both locals and visitors have strongly embraced Calgary’s e-scooter program,” said Head of Market for Neuron Canada, Ankush Karwal, in a recent press release,

“We’re thrilled to be adding Neuron’s e-bikes to the shared micromobility services offered, giving riders one more safe, sustainable option to get around the city.”

If you’d like to take a spin on one of their bright orange two-wheelers – bikes will be permitted on bike lanes, multi-use pathways, and on roads with a 50/km or less speed limit.

Sidewalk biking, however, will be a big no-no, and riders will be required to park in established zones throughout the city.

Lastly, only those 18 or older will be able to climb aboard – with tandem riding frowned upon by the company and city.

We’ll see you out there, folks!
