With the start of summer just around the corner, now is a great time to scout out potential swimming spots near Vancouver. Fortunately, you don’t have to leave the area to take a refreshing dip, because West Vancouver’s beloved Dundarave Park is opening for the season in just over a week!

A popular spot for summer strolls and swims, Dundarave Park offers visitors more than 50 metres of ‘wide sandy beach’ to explore, and nearly a hectare of waterfront access – making it one of the most scenic spots around.

It’s also where the famed Centennial Sewalk begins, which runs from the bottom of 18th Avenue to the park. Here, visitors can enjoy an ‘easy’ leisurely 1.7 km stroll with views of the Burrard Inlet, Vancouver Skyline, Coast Mountains, and Lions Gate Bridge.

For those looking to do a bit of swimming, there’s a floating dock that will be ready for use by the end of June, according to the District of West Vancouver.
