When Don Oso’s arrived in Metro Vancouver back in 2020, it immediately became a must-try destination for fans of Mexican cuisine around the area. And as of this week, it’s managed to open a new outpost right here in the city! Here’s the scoop (of salsa? Sorry).
Known for delicious items, and particularly their birria options, Don Oso’s opened their first outpost along Hastings Street in Burnaby. Alongside the birria ramen, fans of the spot have been treated to both Mexican and Chilean cuisine, ranging from classics like burritos empanadas to Chilean-style hot dogs.

What’s more, the new location features an expanded menu, which includes more entrees, soups, and even a few more options for tacos! Not feeling a full-blown dinner for your first visit? They’ve also started a happy hour deal here, with a serious variety of tasty treats to try. And finally, those hoping to start the weekend off right can look forward to a few brunch options as well.
So, the new opening along Commercial Drive is music to our ears. In fact, Don Oso’s took over the space left by another Vancouver icon- The Storm Crow Tavern. Bummed that you can’t monopolize your next game night destination? We suggest a fiesta instead!
