Upscale Toronto dining spot named one of the best Italian restaurants in the world

Toronto is home to world-renowned restaurants and one of its most notable Italian dining destinations just received a huge nod from the motherland. Award-winning, contemporary fine dining spot Don Alfonso 1890 was named one of the best Italian restaurants in the world.

The prestigious 50 Top Italy award winners are out and Don Alfonso 1890 Toronto was awarded third place in the Best Italian Restaurant in the World 2024 category.

Though a drop from last year’s second-place win, Don Alfonso was the only Canadian restaurant to be recognized in the top ten.

“This prestigious award is truly the greatest accolade we could receive,” said Mr. Di Donato. “To be named in the top three restaurants on the world stage is not only a supreme honour for us, but it is also a testament to the city of Toronto and its maturing dining scene to be recognized as best in class on the international stage.”

However, there is one other Canadian restaurant that made the top 50 and that’s Cioppino’s in Vancouver. The dining establishment was ranked in 38th place and last but not least is Osteria Gulia in 50th.

First place winner was The Carpaccio in Paris, Franc and Gucci Osteria Tokyo in Japan in second.

Don Alfonso 1890 Toronto is located on the 38th floor of the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel at 1 Harbour Square.
