5 simple yet delicious whisky cocktails to strike the right holiday spirit

Listen up, whisky tribe. We one hundred percent agree with you— it is ALWAYS Whisky season. But that doesn’t mean we can’t give our favourite drink a few fun holiday twists. And by favourite drink, we mean the finest Canadian whisky there is— Crown Royal Fine De Luxe. ‘Cause when it comes to our lineup of festive whisky cocktail recipes, you deserve the best.

Fun fact: Crown Royal whisky originated as a gift suited for the Royal Couple on their first visit to Canada in 1939! This extraordinary blend of 50 full-bodied Canadian whiskies matured to perfection was meticulously crafted and presented to the King and Queen, in a cut-glass decanter and regal purple bag with gold stitching, similar to the look Crown Royal is still sporting to this day.

That explains its rich and robust taste, the delicately smooth and creamy texture and the long and lingering finish.

Anyway, because we always have this whisky on hand for drinking, serving or even gifting, we sought help from the folks behind Crown Royal. And we now have 5 simple yet delicious whisky cocktail recipes to strike the right holiday spirit. Take a look—

5 WHISKY COCKTAIL RECIPES TO BRIGHTEN YOUR SEASON

#1 – Royal Eggnog

It’s a holiday classic and it’s easy to make. Of course, this bitter-sweet delight is topping our list. Just mix all the ingredients and garnish with a candy cane. If you want to take your presentation and experience a notch higher, you can even rim the glass with crushed candy cane.

Ingredients:

  • 5 oz. eggnog
  • 1 oz. Crown Royal De Luxe
  • 1 pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch nutmeg

#2 – Crown Royal Flush

To make this Christmas-coloured sweetness, combine all ingredients, except cranberry juice, in an ice-filled shaker. Strain them into an ice-filled highball glass and then add the cranberry juice. Stir, garnish with a lime wedge & enjoy.

  • 4 oz. Clamato Cocktail
  • 3 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 dashes of hot sauce

#5 – Crown Royal Sour

Okay, we’ll admit, it isn’t particularly a festive libation. But given its ‘cult classic’ status and the fact that we absolutely love it, we had to add it to the list. Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. Crown Royal Fine De Luxe
  • 1.5 oz. lemon juice
