The shores of Georgian Bay are stunning this time of year and if you’re looking for a town to visit, we know just the place. Collingwood, Ontario is nestled on the southern shore of the area and not only boasts hiking trails, restaurants and a historic downtown but it’s also known as one of the most beautiful towns in Canada.
Let’s start planning that trip to Collingwood!
Collingwood is two hours by car if you’re driving from Toronto.
The town can be found along the shores of Georgian Bay between Wasaga Beach and Thornbury.
“Collingwood is a historic harbourfront community that was recently ranked by expedia.com as one of the top 10 most beautiful destinations in Canada,” shares Experience Simcoe.
Yep, this is a spot you’re going to want to spend the whole day exploring!
According to the town’s website, “Downtown Collingwood might just surprise you with 30 plus restaurants, 60 plus boutique shops, spas for relaxing, live music for grooving.”
There is no shortage of shopping so grab a coffee, and some food and begin the day strolling the stores.
Now, let’s head over to the waterfront. Sunset Point Park, Princeton Shores, Millenium Park and Harbourlands Park/Harbour are just a few of the waterfront areas you can walk around.
One of the most popular attractions is the beloved Blue Mountain Resort, and while it’s known for its ski hill, you can visit any time of year.
From mini putt, an outdoor climbing centre, pickleball, an air gondola, a mountain coaster, high ropes and a zip line you won’t even remember that skiing if the main attraction here.
Blue Mountain’s village also features restaurants, bars and shopping you’ll want to make time to check out.
We can’t think of a better way to cap off a day than with a cold drink. Collingwood is also known as Ontario’s Craft Beverage Capital so it would be a crime to not check out one of the many craft beverage spots.
There are over six in the area and they can all be found here.
A spectacular day in Collingwood, Ontario awaits!
