Toronto is Canada’s second most unaffordable city for renting, but it’s not entirely impossible to live here on a budget. There are still some cheaper apartment rentals in Toronto that don’t require living with roommates.
These are some of the cheapest apartments listed on Rentals.ca, as of April 5.
383 Sherbourne Street – $1395
This bachelor unit is going for $1,395 Per Month Plus $150 Per Month for Fixed-Rate Utilities, and is in a profesionally managed boutique building with 32 suites. It is located minutes from the College streetcar, providing quick access to subway stations and downtown.
22 Oakmount Road– $1550
Located steps from High Park, this building boats tons of natural light and amenities including a newly upgraded gym, lobby and hallways and an outdoor pool. It is also a pet friendly one bedroom, one bath.
140 Carlton Street– $1499
This is a freshly renovated 1 bed, 1 bath unit, with large windows. The building is located in Cabbage Town, and includes a gym, sauna, pool, basketball court and a squash court.
120 Sherbourne Street– $1500
This unit is vacant now, and offers an open concept, as well as private outdoor space. It includes ensuite laundry, and has a living room area with exposed brick.
2079 Yonge Street – $1550
This one bedroom, one bathroom unit is in a great location and close to public transit. Hydro is extra here, and of not, it is located above retail stores.
10 Huntley Street – $1650
If you’re looking for an apartment with some views, check out this building with an indoor heated pool, close to U of T and Ryerson. The renovated suites are spacious, and close to bike trails and Yorkville.
