Popular Calgary spot opening in Toronto is hosting a three-day job fair

Calgary-based restaurant Central is hosting a few job fairs in the next few weeks as it prepares to open its first Toronto location.

If you’ve travelled down the strip recently, you may have noticed signage on the intersection of Argyle Street and Ossington Avenue. That’s where the chain known for its daily happy hour deals and brunch specials will soon open to the public.

We reported its opening announcement in July 2024, with a projected timeline of 2025, but no actual date.

“We are bringing Central to 3 new locations across Canada in 2025,” shared the restaurant in a LinkedIn post. “You’ll find us in the trendy neighbourhood of Ossington, Toronto, + the heart of Downtown Vancouver, and the inner city of Marda Loop, Calgary!”

Since then, it has opened its Vancouver restaurant, but for us in Toronto, we are still eagerly awaiting its arrival. Before that can even happen, Central needs to fill up its employee roster. That’s where you come in.

Job fairs

According to its most recent Instagram post, Central will host three job fairs in the coming weeks.

The dates are as follows:

  • April 28, 2025
  • May 3, 2025
  • May 10, 2025

Save those dates in your calendar. “We’re getting ready to open our doors on Ossington and we want you to be part of our growing team,” reads the post.

All their hiring fairs will be held at 938 Queen St. W., from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. If that address sounds familiar to you, it’s because you’ve probably been there. It’s where The Welcome Market hosts its events.

What to expect

Now, as for job positions, they’re hiring for everything. That means roles in management, serving, hosting, bartending, kitchen hand, cook/sous chef.

If you’ve made it this far, we’ll take a wild guess and say you’re interested in attending. All you have to do is RSVP online.

Knowing Toronto, it may get a little busy. So dress to impress and have that resume handy.

Good luck!

Central job fair

When: April 28, 2025, May 3, 2025 and May 10, 2025
