Summer is the time for road trips and if you’re looking to see the PNW, more specifically Washington state, boy oh boy do we have a drive for you. The Cascade Loop is one of the best ways to hit the open road and see the variety of landscapes our state has to offer. Here’s what you can expect.
The Cascade Loop is a two to four-day drive encompassing over 400 miles of Washington state. During summer and early fall, you can enjoy water sports, fishing, cycling, hiking in higher elevations, and community farmers’ markets. Further, into fall, you’ll be able to see beautiful colored foliage, enjoy cool temperatures and even check out the apple and pear harvest.

As for the places you drive through, you’ll get to view parts of Puget Sound, Leavenworth, Wenatchee, Lake Chelan, Skagit Valley, and more. You of course will also get to see parts of the one and only North Cascades National Park. It truly is Washington’s most scenic road trip and well worth adding to your summer bucket list.
To make your life even easier, there are travel guides and maps for the route available on the Cascade Loop website. Be sure to read up before you embark as there is lots to know about where you need passes and permits as well as road conditions, potential park closures, and more. Enjoy!
