A new cocktail and wine bar has set an opening date in Vancouver

When Chupito opened last summer, it quickly became a must-visit spot for delicious food and drinks. So, knowing that the same duo behind it is gearing up to open Cantina 189 is music to our ears. Even better- an official opening date has been set!

For reference, the concepts come from two heavyweights in the food world. Marcelo Ramirez, you may already know, is the person behind La Taqueria, which has long been a staple for Mexican cuisine in the city. Meanwhile, Tara Davies has joined the party, after a stint at Toronto’s iconic Bar Raval.

Their first joint venture, Chupito, is a pop-up patio bar that operates during the warmer months (and is set to return this April). Meanwhile, Cantina 189 is set to be a more permanent option, moving into the space beside the original La Taqueria location on Hastings Street.

Once it opens, you can expect a wide variety of drinks, with a focus on creative and classic cocktails alike. Of course, there will also be a small selection of snacks to enjoy alongside them, but nothing too fancy.

Cantina 189 is set to open on March 9th, and will be operating on a first come, first served basis. Head over one day after work and check it out!

Where: 324 West Hastings Street
When: Set to open March 9th
