So it turns out the people who pictured the future as robots running the world were right. Well, kind of. Get ready for the future, folks! Canada’s first fully automated restaurant is about to open in Toronto. And it’ll use state-of-the-art technology to serve up some delicious eats.

So the restaurant is called Box’d, and it’s set to open its doors at 4 King St W later this month. Don’t mind us, we’re just marking this our calendars so we can try this neat spot the second it’s open.

So here’s how it works. First, you can place your order ahead of time through the Box’d app or use one of the kiosks in-store. Then you head to the pickup station that’ll have digital cubbies and shelves to identify which order is what. The whole process is completely digitized. Plus, it’s perfectly designed to make social distancing super easy!

Box’d will be serving up some delicious Middle Eastern flavours and Paramount Fine Foods classics. Plus, the whole concept is the fist of its kind in Canada! Toronto really does always get the best stuff…

So get excited and get ready to try out Box’d! It really is the stuff of the future.
