The age-old debate that has divided Canadians for 45 years has returned — which Timbit is best? Each year, Tim Hortons brings us closer to the truth by releasing Canada’s favourite Timbit in each region over the past 12 months. This time, it’s clear that most of us are on the same page, except for the Atlantic provinces.

According to Tim Hortons, the number one classic Timbit of choice in Western Canada, Quebec, and Ontario is Chocolate Glazed. In Atlantic, the top choice is Old Fashioned Plain.

To be fair, Old Fashioned Plain is loved by other provinces too. In fact, it’s Ontario’s second-favourite Timbit flavour of the year and the fourth most popular out west. Even in the era of Justin Bieber’s Timbiebs, the OG continues to prevail.

Other popular picks in 2021 included Honey Dip, Birthday Cake, and Sour Cream Glazed, which all made it into Canada’s top five of 2021. The only outlier is the Strawberry Filled Timbit, which was especially popular with Quebecers this year.

In tribute to the 45th anniversary of the Timbit, Tim Hortons has released a list of some of the limited-edition flavours from the past decades, including Churro, Chocolate Marble, Cotton Candy, Spice Apple Filled, Chocolate Peanut Crunch, Cinnamon French Toast, and Lemon Cake.

The company also shared some of the Timbit flavours that are served at restaurants around the world, like Pistachio, Cheesecake, Matcha, Salted Egg Yolk, Boston Cream, and Dulce de Leche.

We’d love to see some of these unique flavours come to Canada and give Old Fashioned Plain a run for its money.
