Canada ranks as second most desirable place in the world

Canada was just voted among the most desirable place in the world.

Thanks to our stunning landscapes, bustling cities, and multicultural communities, it’s not a shocker that the rest of the world sees us with awe and admiration.

U.K. Travel magazine, Wanderlust has revealed the winners of its Wanderlust Travel Awards 2024 and over three million votes were cast. Luckily for us, Canada managed to stay on top in the most desirable category.

Where does Canada land in the ranking?

According to the list, Canada came in second place, just behind Australia.

Japan snags a spot in third and the U.S., in fourth.

This isn’t the first time Canada or its cities have made a list in a span of a few months.

The World’s Best Cities report for 2025 by Resonance Consultancy revealed six of our beloved Canadian destinations among the winners.

Toronto came in 15, Vancouver in 22 and Montreal in 35.

And in the list of the coolest cities in Toronto, the city came in 6.

While Toronto didn’t rank as coolest overall, it did crack the top 10 and beat all other Canadian cities.
