There’s a larger-than-life maze with twinkling lights at this Toronto holiday fair

Holiday Fair in the Square is bringing all the Christmas cheer. If you’re looking to switch things up from the Distillery Winter Village, this is a holiday market in Toronto you’ll want to add to your list immediately.

This year’s festivities will include a larger-than-life maze, exclusive LEGO pop-up, shopping vendors, cozy fire pits, and even a winter-themed bar!

Where and when is Holiday Fair in the Square?

Holiday Fair in the Square will take over Mel Lastman Square for most of December and if you’re commuting from Toronto or the GTA, getting there is easy.

Mel Lastman Square is conveniently located on Yonge St in North York, just steps from North York Centre Station on Line 1 Yonge–University.

Open from Dec. 6 to 23, 2024, the fair’s hours are Tuesdays to Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 10 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 9 p.m.

Festivities will be closed on Mondays except Monday, Dec. 23, when the fair will be open from noon until 7 p.m.

Admission is free, although some attractions will have additional charges.

What to expect at Holiday Fair in the Square

The 2024 rendition of the fair will have some epic attractions, starting with the massive maze.

The maze is described as a “larger-than-life human-sized adventure” featuring twinkling lights, festive decor and hidden surprises. Whether you’re down for the challenge or just want to use it as a festive photo opportunity, this is a must-see.

Tickets to use the maze are $8 per person but are 25% off if you purchase them online ahead of time.

Now time to head over to another life-sized activation – the LEGO pop-up. Fair-goers can take photos with the giant LEGO builds and discover their creative side with hands-on brick building.

The LEGO experience runs from Dec. 13 to 15 and Dec. 19 to 23.

If all that wasn’t exciting enough, there will also be a fireside lounge with fire pits to cozy up next to, the Polar Point bar (adult hot chocolate, anyone?), food trucks and plenty of market vendors selling local treasures and goods.

Finally, don’t forget to head over to Santa’s Village to take a picture with the big man himself.

One of the greatest things about the fair is that it was created in partnership with Epilepsy Toronto “as a way to create a vibrant new holiday experience for Toronto and the GTA, while at the same time raising funds for epilepsy.”

A portion of proceeds from the fair go towards the support of Epilepsy Toronto services.

I’ll see you at Holiday Fair in the Square, Toronto!
