Get into the city’s best poutine at this delish food fest
Get ready to fall out of your 2020 resolutions, Calgary. Not only does February 1st mark the first day of YYC’s Hot Chocolate Fest, but Feb one also kicks off La Poutine Week, a national competition open to all businesses who are game to participate. Drool.
At the end of the week, each city will have a People’s Choice winner. Last year, The Canadian Brewhouse in Mahogany snagged the top spot in Calgary with their Crispy Whiskey Poutine. Wow, did it ever deserve the W!
This competition gets forking crazy, guys. Restaurants all over the city will be seriously into it and we could not be more excited to see what comes of the whole thing.

Not only is this a chance for people like us to dig all the way in, but it’s also a chance for restaurants to advertise for themselves. Also, this year, whoever wins the coveted title of regional favourite will get to choose one of their waiters or waitresses to receive $250. Talk about a good tip!
Since 2018, Poutine Week has had more than 350,000 participants. They’ve also registered over 400 restaurants and even raised over $105,000 for charities across Canada.
