17th Avenue’s Mill Street Brew Pub announces permanent closure

Via Curiocity Calgary

After years of bringing beers and cheers to 17th Avenue, Mill Street Brewpub has sadly announced that they will be closing their inner-city lounge citing the “unforeseen impact of COVID-19” as the reason.

Mill Street was a summer hot spot and a great place to grab a casual drink after work or before a Flames game.

“We want to take this moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your continuous support and loyalty over the years,” they said in a recent Instagram post. “We are grateful and honoured.”

This certainly isn’t the first closure that we’ve seen in recent months and we fear that it won’t be the last. Unfortunately, it really never gets any easier watching another “For Lease” sign hung up in a Calgary window.

Luckily, the pub does have several other locations across Canada, so it’s not really a goodbye – it’s more like a “see you when we see you!” – however, for those who aren’t planning on travelling any time soon, be sure to pop in before November 3rd for one last beer! We’re sure they’d like to see your faces, folks.

When: Tuesday, November 3rd
Where: 219 17 Ave SW, Calgary
