Hi pals! As you might know, Cavalry FC is Calgary’s newest pro sports team with stomping grounds at the new ATCO Field in Spruce Meadows. Their club philosophy is all about “blending the principles of its founders, focusing on tradition, community and family.” This team is about bringing neighbours together, bonding over the love of a sport, competition, and active living… This is why we’ve partnered with Cavalry FC to bring you 8 unique summer sports to play and experience with your loved ones in Calgary. Let’s dive in!

Disc Golf

Think golf but instead of balls and clubs, Frisbees. We’re horrid at both, but that’s what makes it so entertaining. The game is played on 9 or 18 holes and follows similar rules to golf. Check out the new David Richardson Memorial Disk Golf Park in Royal Oak. It’s the longest disc golf course in the city, and was opened in memory of late businessman, David Richardson.

Where: David Richardson Memorial Disc Golf Park– T3G 0E2
When: Dusk till Dawn, 7 days a week

Bubble Soccer

Imagine a group of Kool-Aid man-shaped adults, raging war against each other over a ball. Insert bubble soccer. You’re encouraged to run, smash, and bump into each other and the best part is no red cards. We’re not sure if you’ll be upside down more or laughing more, either way, you’re in for a hilarious time.

Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash

water park
Ok, this may not be a “sport” but we’re certain you’ll burn just as many calories at this water playground. With 15 foot climbing walls, 15-foot slides, launch bags, and 90-degree sloped speed curves, it’s like a slip and slide on steroids. This is something you’ll want to make a day trip out for.
