Is it just us or did August come out of nowhere? Hopefully y’all didn’t spend all your energy over the long weekend because we’ve got a whole lotta summer left to enjoy– remember, Calgary, it’s a marathon, not a sprint! We’ve teamed up with Taste of Calgary to bring you 10 things to cross off your summer bucket list before we head back into winter… well fall, but what’s the diff!

Calgary’s tastiest and most notorious food and drink festival is back for another year! Get yo’selves down to Eau Claire market an put your taste buds to the test by trying Chicken Wings with Habanero BBQ Sauce, Arepas (an all-time favourite), Ahi Tuna Wonton Nachos, Indigenous style Bannock (back again by popular demand), or a Fire Cheese Chicken Stuffed Sesame Donut and more. Switch your sample game between food and bevvies as you wash everything down with sample size libations from 30 of our favourite breweries and distilleries from around the city and take in the live music in the Cheers Garden stage. Treat those taste buds and get ready for one appetizing festival!

On August 22 enjoy an evening under the stars and settle in for a nighttime screening of your fave adventure-thriller straight from your childhood– Jumanji! Plus, enjoy a BBQ, activities and some adult bevvies! Run, don’t walk, to pick up your tickets from the Zoo’s website! See you underneath the stars, Calgary!

Escape the urban jungle and get out of dodge to Sundance Lodges in the heart of the Rockies! Get away for the weekend and reserve a full campsite, tipi, or trapper tent!
