Calgary is getting its first-ever tea festival this month

A new festival is making its debut in Calgary this weekend, and the focus is all things tea. The Calgary Tea Festival takes place Saturday, Oct. 24, with vendors, tastings, and workshops featuring teas from around the world.

The festival will also feature teaware, specialty baked goods, as well as presentations and demonstrations throughout the day. Whether you’re interested in trying new varieties, picking up tea for home, or learning how to brew the perfect cup, there’s something for everyone.

Here’s everything you need to know before heading to the festival.

What to expect at the Calgary Tea Festival

What can I do at the tea festival?

During the festival, vendors will sell teas from around the world, and you can sample different varieties and chat with experts.

The event will also feature presentations and demonstrations if you’re curious about learning more about tea.

For a more hands-on experience, separate ticketed workshops cover everything from brewing the perfect cup to guided tastings of oolong and raw pu-erh teas.

You can also book a tea leaf reading, a traditional form of fortune-telling in which a reader interprets the shapes and patterns left by loose tea leaves inside the cup.

When and where is the Calgary Tea Festival?

The Calgary Tea Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Parkdale United Church in northwest Calgary.

How much are tickets to the festival?

If you’re looking to attend the festival, there are three ticket options to choose from. General admission costs $15, with the choice of arriving at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m., depending on which ticket you purchase. Your general admission ticket will include a festival tasting cup and a branded shopping bag.

VIP tickets cost $20 and let you enter earlier, at 10 a.m., for private shopping access. VIP admission also includes tea samples from participating vendors and the first opportunity to book tea leaf readings.

If you buy your tickets at the door, admission costs $20 regardless of your arrival time.

With the cold weather settling in, there’s no better time to head over to Calgary’s first-ever tea festival and discover a few new favourites to keep you warm this fall.
