Have you jumped on board with Calgary’s pump track craze? If so, you’ll go bananas over this new track that just opened in South Calgary, making the sport much more accessible for everyone.

It’s part of a development project by WestCreek, and expands on their commitment to build community parks that encourage movement, social connection and imaginative play for all. The new Legacy pump track is a third of an acre in size, with drops, rollers, berms, jumps, and speed sections that are ideal for beginners and intermediate riders.

Next to it, an awesome new playground, Purple Park, boasts a unity swing with hoopla and basket seats, a double glide slide and agility-driven features designed to build coordination, balance and confidence. There’s also a new Fish Park in Wolf Willow slated to open in 2026, which will house Calgary’s tallest tower and slide complex.

Check out what you can expect at this new park in the southern Calgary community of Legacy. Bundle up and play on — it’s the Calgary way!

A third of an acre pump track

As previously mentioned, the new Legacy pump track at WestCreek is a third of an acre, which means you can do all the jumps and stunts you want with plenty of room to move. The track is designed to be challenging for beginners, intermediate, and advanced riders, and there’s a keen focus on accessibility.

Other Calgary parks have received federal funding to install pump tracks, which has led to a surge in popularity for this trending outdoor activity. If you’re based in Calgary, why not give this pump track in Legacy a try?

Inclusive playgrounds

WestCreek has introduced more than 15 playgrounds across three communities in the Calgary south, with a goal of ensuring no home is more than a short walk from a playground.

Every new park has signature poured-in-place rubberized surfacing and whimsical, timeless designs. All seven elements of play — swinging, sliding, spinning, climbing, brachiating, sensory, and balance — are built into every park project.

Those features are also in play at Purple Park, located next to the pump track. The park has a mega slide and swing set that every kid is bound to get excited about.

In Calgary, we know that the winter weather won’t stop kids from going outside to play. Bundling up is a quintessential Alberta experience, and with this new playground, you can keep the fun going all season.

We can’t wait to check it out!
