Peter Dinklage among celebrities to walk red carpet at Calgary's International Film Festival

Celebrating 25 incredible years, the highly anticipated 2024 Calgary International Film Festival is back and will be better than ever.
Known to Albertans for being the place to see some of the year’s biggest movies, CIFF will kick off this season with a star-studded red carpet and a special showing of The Thicket, a Prairie-shot western, directed by Elliott Lester (Nightingale)
Described as a dark thriller about “vengeance, justice, and unlikely companionship,” The Thicket stars Juliette Lewis (Yellowjackets), Esmé Creed-Miles (Hanna), and Levon Hawke (Wildcat), as well as Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) and Leslie Grace (In the Heights) who will attend the YYC event.

“I couldn’t be prouder to be announcing THE THICKET as our Opening Gala film,” said Acting Executive Director Katherine Penhale.
“Launching the festival with a film that was made right here in Alberta with Alberta crews is a perfect fit for our Opening Gala and having the most high-profile red carpet in CIFF’s history.”
