A winter tradition is returning to the city this year. Bloor-Yorkville Icefest is making a comeback this February and will transform the neighbourhood into a whimsical world filled with frozen displays.

There will be over 40 creations made from 60,000 lbs of ice on display at the festival, which will be carved into magnificent, one-of-a-kind sculptures.

Prepare to step into a “never before seen universe” of sculptures based on this year’s theme — Dreams and Fantasies.

The ice sculptures on display will include majestic castles, unicorns, a princess dress, an elegant carriage, dragons, mermaids, and cosmic journeys.

You can take yourself on a self-guided tour of the reimagined world using the Bloor-Yorkville Icefest Event Map.

Visitors can wander among the displays during the daytime and see the sunlight reflect on the ice.

Then, visitors can return in the evening to witness the incredible Light Enhancement Sculptures at night.

Icefest will also feature live ice carving demonstrations, an ice lounge, and an ice wall with projections.

The festival will also collect donations for Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue charity with a mission to provide environmental protection and hunger relief.

The event will run for one weekend only this February, so be sure to mark it on your calendar.

More details about the festival will be announced closer to the date. Stay tuned!
