Doing your part for the planet this Earth Day? Why not explore the city while you’re at it? Bike Share Toronto will let you rent a bike for just $1 in celebration of Earth Day this Friday, April 22.

This Earth Day only, you’ll be able to buy a single-trip pass for a buck, valid for 30 minutes of ride time. All you have to do is download the app or visit a Bike Share kiosk, sign up and rent your wheels.

Here’s how it works — buy your pass on the PBSC app by clicking the green unlock button. If you’re at a kiosk, just select “buy a pass” on the kiosk touch screen and follow the instructions.

Your rental requires a $20 deposit on a credit card, but don’t worry, it will be refunded at the end of your ride.

Once you’ve made your purchase, use the QR code bike to unlock your bike via the app or type in the 5-digit code you received into the keypad on the left side of the docking point with an available bike.

Before your 30 minutes is up, be sure to return your ride to any of the Bike Share stations around the city. And if 30 minutes isn’t enough, you can take as many $1 trips as you want on Earth Day, so be sure to take advantage while you can!
