It’s the last full weekend of the month in Edmonton, and we’ve got some great things to do to cap it off. Especially since it won’t be too hot, at least as we move into Saturday and Sunday. So, get out there, have some fun, and enjoy yourselves!
Here are the best things to do in Edmonton this weekend.
Yeah, one of the most iconic bands, well, ever is coming to Edmonton! The only problem? If you want it that way, it’ll set you back hundreds.
When: Friday, August 26th
Where: 10220 104 Avenue NW
Cost: $390+
If you just feel like rocking out, this is the pick for you. More or less the evolution of Led Zeppelin, the band has become synonymous with hard rock over the past few years.
When: Saturday, August 27th
Where: 10220 104 Avenue NW
Cost: $59+
Last but not least on the music front, we’ve got an elevated, outdoors option! Opera al Fresco is returning to the U of A Botanic Garden this week, for a very cultured night out.
When: Friday, August 26th
Where: 51227 AB-60, Parkland County
Cost: $70 for GA
It’s a great weekend for sports fans, too! The Edmonton Elks will be facing off against the Ottawa Redblacks this Saturday, for a little bit of CFL action!
When: Saturday, August 27th
Where: 11000 Stadium Road
Cost: $32.53+
If you’re craving the other kind of football, this is your weekend! FC Edmonton’s only home game in all of August is on Sunday, and tickets are very, very reasonably priced.
When: Sunday, August 28th
Where: 11000 Stadium Road NW
Cost: $10.50+
More about being seen at the event than seeing the event itself? Packwood Grand is for you, as the city’s own homage to some of the largest (and most extravagant) days at the races the world over.
When: Saturday, August 27th
Where: 4711 Airport Perimeter Road
Tickets: Available through invitation only
