Two hotels in Canada have been ranked among the best in the world

From mountainside chalets to sky-high suites in the city, Canada has its fair share of world-class accommodations. But, only two destinations in the north have been ranked the best hotels in the world by Travel + Leisure this year, and they are pretty unexpected.

The travel publication has released the results of its annual World’s Best Awards survey, which asks readers to weigh in on the best places to stay all over the globe.

Readers ranked every destination for its facilities, location, service, food, and overall value. The ones with the best scores earned a spot on this year’s list of the 100 best hotels in the world.

Neither Ontario, B.C., nor Alberta received a nod this year. The only two Canadian hotels included are located in Quebec.

In 50th place with a score of 96.83 is the Manoir Hovey resort in Hatley, Quebec.

“Natural splendor awaits on the shore of Lake Massawippi, but the resort’s lineup of creature comforts ensure every stay is rooted in luxury,” says Travel + Leisure.

The resort features 36 cozy rooms, a pool surrounded by a garden, and destination dining options.

In 85th place is the Auberge Saint-Antoine Relais & Châteaux, with a score of 96.18. This hotel is also a World’s Best Awards Hall of Fame honoree.

This destination has a little bit of everything, according to Travel + Leisure, including historic architecture, exceptional cuisine, and charming suites to unwind in.

With ski season coming up, now’s the perfect time to snap up a room at one of these world-renowned spots.
