The “celeb-approved” yoga apparel store that’s taken social media by storm is opening its first location in Canada. Alo Yoga will open its doors in Toronto this week at the corner of Bay and Bloor, where the Gap store used to be.

This is Alo Yoga’s first-ever international store, said Alo’s co-founder and co-CEO Danny Harris to WWD.

A rep for Alo Yoga told Curiocity via email that the Bloor store will open on September 2, 2022, followed by a second location in Yorkdale Shopping Centre which will open on November 1, 2022.

Both Toronto stores will have weekend-long grand opening events.

“From Friday to Sunday, there will be activations that include but aren’t limited to private shopping, acro yoga performances, beauty and wellness treatments, special gifting moments, and more,” said Alo.

“Join us for some complimentary food and beverages, and enjoy an exclusive gift with every purchase for the first 100 customers.”

Alo currently operates stores in upscale shopping areas around the U.S., including SoHo in Manhattan, The Grove in Los Angeles, La Jolla in San Diego, and a flagship in Beverly Hills.

Harris told WWD that Alo has plans to expand with several more international locations, including a store in Dubai, but has yet to reveal whether those plans include any other Canadian cities.

Alo Yoga is generally a bit pricier than Lululemon but the two are still relatively comparable. A pair of Alo’s leggings for women cost between $120 and $210.

The yoga apparel store also sells clothing and accessories for men, yoga gear, essential oils, hand cream, and daily SPF moisturizer.

Come early September, Torontonians will have access to Alo’s first-ever international store. Credit cards at the ready!
