A tropical vacation may not be in your immediate future, but if a quick road trip is, you’re in luck! This summer, skip airport security and an expensive plane ticket then head to Kinosoo Beach in Alberta, a sunny day escape with white sand and water as far as the eye can see.
Located along Cold Lake Provincial Park, Kinosoo is a stunning destination beloved by locals and visitors alike.
Described as the area’s “summer hub,” those who visit are able to enjoy a few hours at the splash park, a game of beach volleyball, can lounge on floating docks, or can grab a bite to eat at the full-service concession.

In addition to this, the destination which was once named one of the best beaches in Canada by Canadian Geographic (according to the city of Cold Lake and Travel Alberta), also has a zipline and an annual festival aptly named ‘Aqua Days.”
During this event, visitors are encouraged to enjoy live stage entertainment, a market, free water sports rentals, children’s activities, fireworks and a cardboard boat race – a favourite amongst locals.
The best part? This beach is FREE to visit and will only cost you a squeeze or two of sunscreen.
