With the Calgary Stampede currently in full swing, it’s only fair to focus on a very Western-themed wagon for our Airbnb pick this week. And, it don’t get much more down home country living than this option in America, harking back to the ol’ frontier days. What’s more- you don’t even have to worry about catching dysentery!

“The Band Wagon”, as it’s fittingly named, is a faithful recreation of a covered wagon on a private farm down in Tennessee. The riverside setting of the wagon makes it perfect for the summer months, with ample activities to enjoy both on the farm and around the area.

While the outside might look a hundred years old, the inside still offers a slew of modern amenities. You’ve got a king-size bed and a pair of bunk beds, A/C, a microwave, and a mini-fridge for light snacks. The wagon (thankfully, to be honest) doesn’t have a bathroom in it, instead, a private one is available just a short walk away.

Right outside the wagon, you’ve got your own firepit to relax around, plus a BBQ nearby for cooking up a little grub. Here’s hoping they’ve only got cast iron pots and pans available, for a truly authentic country cookout experience. Spend six hours cooking beans, and the same amount of time eating ’em!

But full disclosure- we don’t think a stay at this Airbnb is in and of itself worth a trip to Tennessee (sorry). Instead, we’re hoping that some of our readers with their own prairie land get inspired to build an equivalent option for Canada. Wake up one frosty morning and look out the wagon to a view of the Rockies? Come on, that sells itself.

There we have it though- a frontier-style Airbnb wagon pick fitting for the Calgary Stampede!
