First it was Winnie the Pooh, then Scream, and now, we’re getting some high fashion in the mix! Airbnb announced today that it’s going to offer the villa featured in the upcoming House of Gucci movie as its next incredible one-night stay.
Located on Italy’s stunning Lake Como, Villa Balbiano is a 17th-century palazzo that was built by an Italian Cardinal, then expanded by yet another Cardinal to use for parties, festivals and more. These days, the villa is one of the grandest homes on Lake Como, mixing its centuries-old history with modern touches.
Naturally, the villa was a perfect setting for the new Ridley Scott movie House of Gucci, which follows the outsider Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga) as she marries into, and begins to upheave, the Gucci family. We avoided reading the synopsis because we actually want to watch this in theatres, but if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s going to be a glamorous ride.
If you’re looking to experience that glamour for yourself, then you can try and snag the one-night-only reservation at this incredible option. The rental will include the first four (!!) floors of the home, the boathouse, the gardens, and the private pier. Honestly, it’s kind of a steal, priced at 1000 euros for the night.
The only thing we think it’s missing? Well, since it’s already going to be furnished with items from Sotheby’s and Christie’s, we definitely think that keeping a few of the vintage Gucci outfits used for the movie would be an incredible cherry on top for cocktail hour. Oh well, if you can afford to fly to Italy for a night, and stay here, chances are high a new outfit shouldn’t be too far-fetched.
The reservation for this Airbnb House of Gucci option opens on December 6th, with the single-night booking set for March 30th, 2022. Time to ask your fashion friends if they need a springtime vacation!
