If you’re feeling a little artsy this weekend, then we’ve got just the thing in mind. The Art Gallery of Alberta is hosting its first Comic and Zine Market ever, and you’re invited to go check it out! The free to access market goes down this Saturday, and here’s what to expect if you decide to head down there.

From 11AM to 5PM, local artists will be taking over the entrance space of the AGA to show off their creations. While the full list of participating artists is forthcoming, you can expect mini-art activities, a wide variety of styles, and of course, the chance to take something home for yourself!

The market is inspired by an ongoing exhibition at the AGA – Comic Sans. This tongue-in-cheek exhibition is a celebration of Canadian visual artists who are pushing the boundaries of the medium. Which, honestly, reminds us of a particular Calvin & Hobbes cartoon. This is a great way to make a whole day at the AGA, but heads up, you’ll need to purchase admission to check it out. Of course, you could just wait until next week to go for free…

So, at the very least, we think you should check out the market! Have some artsy fun out there, folks!
