Ontario Parks welcomes all to enjoy its facilities, offering a barrier-free experience – especially on its beaches. There are a number of its park beaches with beach mats that allow accessibility for visitors on wheelchairs. We’ve compiled a list of Ontario Parks with this feature and here’s what we found.
From beach access to trail accessibility, Ontario Parks makes an effort to permit visitors to take part in the activities that they love. Some parks offer all-terrain wheelchairs, waterwheel chairs, and a Mobi Water Chair.
When it comes to its sandy shores and beaches, Mobi-Mats are rolled out to create a smooth surface for wheelchairs, strollers, and walkers to get from parking areas to the sand.

According to Ontario Parks, they are installed in about 19 of its parks each spring and then removed in the fall.

Overall, when it comes to accessibility features, it is important to note that though many parks do not require a deposit to use/rent their accessibility equipment, some parks charge a refundable deposit of between $100 to $500.
