Okay, September isn’t known for being the most fun month. School starts again, the summer heat fades away. But we really think September is an underrated month here in Vancouver, and there are a whole lot of great events happening this weekend that prove that point. There are so many cool things happening in the city that we really struggled with parsing this down to just ten. But, that’s how you know that all of these are worth checking out!
Here’s our rundown of things to do this weekend
An iconic Vancouver music festival is back in a new form. And there are some primo acts coming to the show this year. The headliner for day one is none other than Canada’s own Deadmau5. Some great acts showing up include REZZ, Alison Wonderland, and Black Tiger Sex Machine. Music aside, with acts that have names like that you really can not go wrong.

We love our furry friends. And we love a whole event dedicated to them even more. One of the cutest events in the city is coming to Yaletown this weekend. Pet-a-Palooza: Day of the Dog is the place to go for canines and their humans to get some great dog (and human) treats and watch some dog races. Owners of French and English Bulldogs, Corgis and Wiener Dogs are invited to enter their pups into the race!

Nothing hits like a tasty burg. A bun, pickle, a juicy patty, it really is one of life’s simple joys. This is what makes this Vancouver (and Canada)-wide burger event so exciting to us. 29 restaurants in the city are participating in the extra special 10th anniversary 2-week extravaganza. So go, have some dang burgers this weekend, why don’t cha’!

Where: All over the city
Theatre is more than just Shakespeare. It can be much, much, MUCH, weirder, and more interesting. With this year’s Fringe Fest starting up, there is a chance to see the wide breadth of what theatre can be. One-person shows, comedy acts, huge productions galore, and the opening day of the whole two-week event is on September 9. So, there is tons to check out around the city this weekend (and beyond).

And that is our rundown of things to do this weekend. It’s enough to fill your boots, as our grandma once said. Of course, please make sure to stay safe and be aware of all health regulations in the city and province.
Have a great weekend!
