A classy Venetian-inspired wine bar is about to open at the Fairmont Pacific Rim

Good news Vancouver! A new Venetian-inspired wine bar has announced its opening date, and it’s just in time for summer. The much-anticipated giovane bacaro is the latest concept from the folks behind Ask for Luigi and Farina a Legna, so we know they’ll be bringing the noise. If you’re ready to hear about it, then keep reading!

This new spot is actually the evolution of the giovane café located in the Fairmont Pacific Rim. Kitchen Table took it over last summer, and it wasn’t long before they realized the potential of the space.

Inspired by the bacaros (simple wine bars) of Venice and Northern Italy, giovane will focus on small sharing plates traditionally known as cicchetti alongside more classic meals and dishes. As for the drinks, expect a robust range of everything from house special spritzes to Italian vermouth and, of course, a well-curated wine list focusing on Northern Italian regional varieties, or their BC counterparts.

Meanwhile, the revamped giovane caffé will specialize in breakfast and all-day fare. There, you’ll find a range of traditional coffees and a selection of eats for a quick bite at breakfast or lunch. Either way, the Ste. Marie-designed space will have you wanting to hang out a while while you’re there.
