In a fun twist on the new ‘vaccination incentive’ trend, a cannabis company has decided to offer free weed for a year to a lucky few people. Delta 9, which operates in Manitoba, recently announced the ‘Joints for Jabs’ vaccine reward program. Let’s check it out!

Running from now until the end of September, the program has a few different giveaways to be won. You can get some branded merch, a free joint, or, of course, one of three grand prizes of a ‘One Year Supply of Cannabis’. This means you’ll get $100 (approx. 28 grams) to spend at any Delta 9 store in Manitoba every month.

Sadly, this giveaway is only open to fully-vaccinated residents of Manitoba, and prizes will be drawn starting at the end of July. Got a friend or relative living there? Hey, maybe let ’em know about the opportunity. Know a big dog at a cannabis company? Even better, because we want to see this happen in more provinces.

And we were curious, so we did a little digging on the efficacy of these ‘vaccination incentives’. Turns out, an article in the New England Journal of Medicine claims that these incentives might help overcome the hesitancy in certain groups. What’s more, they represent a ‘positive’ reason to get vaccinated, instead of requiring it to travel, go to work, or attend social gatherings.

Which one will come out on top? That’s easy, whichever person is rolling the loud at the end of it all.
