Snoop Dogg has arrived in Toronto! Literally. Well, kind of. A 7-foot tall sculpture of the iconic musician is here. To celebrate the launch of 19 Crimes wine, the massive piece was commissioned to stand at Toronto’s LCBO flagship store. For a limited time, you can visit the rapper in person while you pick up your very own bottle of the brand new beverage.

So let’s start by discussing this sculpture. As we mentioned, it stands at a whopping 7-feet tall. It was created by local artist Jordan Sook, who you may recognize from his featured works at the MacLaren Art Centre, the Manifesto Art Festival and the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, and the Toronto Media Arts Centre.

The sculpture itself features a matte black rendering of the artist standing on top of 400 Cali Red wine corks. It takes inspiration from 14th century Renaissance works, while mixing in Snoop’s modern-day vibe.

Now onto the wine. The bottle in question is the Cali Red label in collaboration with 19 Crimes. It’s a blend of reds (65% Petite Syrah, 30% Zinfandel and 5% Merlot) that’s been aged in American oak and “contains rich vanilla and chocolate notes and hints of smoke.” Ooh la la!

The wine is available at LCBO’s across the city. But you’ll have to head down to Front and Spadina to check out the Snoop Uncorked sculpture for yourself.

Cheers!
