Ready to kick your feet up and binge-watch some Netflix after the workweek? You’re in luck because Midnight Mass, the latest series from Mike Flanagan, is set to be released on Friday, September 24th! What’s more, he chose to shoot the series in Metro Vancouver!

If Flanagan’s name doesn’t ring a bell, then his previous projects certainly will. This is the guy behind some of Netflix’s most notable horror series, including The Haunting of Hill House (2018) and The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020). So yeah, we’re dealing with a solid pedigree here.

And according to early reviews, Midnight Mass might be the best one yet. Critics, creators, and tastemakers alike have all given praise to the series, saying it combines religion, relationships, and supernatural thrills in an incredible fashion. In fact, it’s carrying a 95% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing.

Set on an ‘isolated island’ (and filmed in Garry Point Park in Richmond), the series will follow the townspeople as they experience surreal phenomena, and greet a new preacher into the town. Fittingly, all of the instalments will be named after different parts of the Bible. Hoo boy, we can’t wait to see what kind of madness ‘Revelations’ brings. Open the Seventh Seal, Mike, we’re ready for it.
