After getting cancelled last year, and postponed this summer, the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival is set to return to Vancouver! Even though the race won’t happen until later this month, you can actually start enjoying the festival before the main event! Here’s what to know about it.

There are actually four different experiences that you can check out this year. These range from free admission to the Dragon Boat exhibit at the BC Sports Hall of Fame, to admission by donation at the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Gardens. Other options include free walking tours of Chinatown, and a special installation at the Chinese Cultural Centre Courtyard. In short- you’ve got options!

But of course, the main event is the must-visit experience. Taking place on September 25th, this year’s Dragon Boat Festival will have live music, food trucks and of course tons of dragon boat races. Since it’s free to visit, we’re thinking this is a great way to spend a Saturday. Especially if the weather holds out!
