All aboard the North Pole Express! There’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than aboard a vintage caboose decorated for the Christmas season. The Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario has a special train experience, and it’s just a drive away from Toronto.

Located in Smiths Falls, Ont., The North Pole Express is a festive train experience that embraces the magic of the season.

What to expect

Your journey begins the moment you step into the festively decorated vintage cabooses. Santa Claus awaits inside the historic 1899 Dining Car, greeting children and posing for professional photos.

Families are encouraged to bring their wish lists because Santa’s elves will be busy sending messages straight to the North Pole from the telegraph office through a special Santa-gram.

The fun doesn’t stop there. The holiday station and Museum grounds come alive with crackling fire-pits, cheerful carollers, delicious refreshments, face-painting and more.

Step inside the stunning 1912 station museum, where the celebration grows even bigger.

The entire space transforms into a full Christmas wonderland featuring train rides on the North Pole Express, tractor rides, artisan vendors, and endless hot chocolate.

Guests can even expect a surprise visit from the Grinch himself, adding a playful twist to the day’s excitement.

Before heading home, visitors can stop by the charming gift shop to pick up unique gifts and festive finds perfect for holiday giving.

Lots to do and only a few days to do it. Tickets are selling out quickly, so get yours before it’s too late.
