Another day, another list that names Washington among the world’s best spots! A Washington beach was named among the 50 greatest in the world, so let’s dive in.

According to the Telegraph, Second Beach in Washington is one of the best in the world for views.

The Telegraph listed the “The 50 greatest beaches in the world”, breaking them down through categories such as “Best for wildlife,” “Best for views,” “Best for atmosphere,” and “Best for remoteness.”

“The question of what constitutes the world’s best beaches will always prompt a subjective answer. There are beaches for pure indolence, where you want nothing more than to snooze under a blue sky,” states The Telegraph.

“There are beaches for play, where families set up sun-tents and sandcastles are constructed. There are beaches for fun, where bars line the promenade and a party is never far away. There are beaches where you will not meet another soul.”

For Washington’s pick, The Telegraph states that “Second Beach is all mood and majesty, its sand left grey by the endless roll of the waves, the horizon partially obscured by the huge rock behemoths just off-shore, the tideline a cemetery for fallen cedar trees rejected by the sea.”

They also state that visitors should “bring a camera,” adding that “the scenery is incredible.”

We couldn’t agree more!

“Located near the town of La Push, this scenic beach is reached via an easy short hike and steep stairs. The dramatic stretch of coastline is dotted with sea stacks and a great place to walk, explore and watch for whales and other wildlife,” states the Olympic Peninsula Tourism Commission on Second Beach.

So if you haven’t checked it out yet, this is your sign to plan a trip soon.
