This festival is a beloved PNW tradition and is back for the 2022 season. Watch as the Skagit Valley transforms into millions of beautiful blooms. It’s a great excuse to get out for a drive and of course, a reason to plan a weekend getaway in the Skagit Valley.

Bow Edison

On the topic of Skagit Valley, this tiny town up North makes a romantic and quaint getaway spot. The town has local restaurants, shopping galleries, and more. Plus you’re close to Bellingham, Chuckanut Drive, and plenty of hiking locations. So you can kick back and relax or get out and explore.

If you’re looking for a day trip or an amazing start to a getaway you can’t go wrong with taking the ferry. Washington has several ferry routes that will provide you with stunning views of our state’s waterways, islands, and even aquatic life.

Alexander’s Castle

This stay is certainly historic and full of romance. It was built in 1882 by Alexander for his wife to be. Today you can enjoy this whole mini castle for yourself and all of its charm. Plus it’s located right by the water so you’ll have spectacular views.

Kalaloch Lodge

There’s nothing quite like the Olympic Coast and if you’re planning a trip then you should consider staying at Kalaloch. This historic lodge has been operational since the 1950s and is located within Olympic National Park. Choose between staying in the lodge or opt for an ocean-front cabin.

In 1907 a man by the name of Chester Thorne bought a 400-year-old Elizabethan manor in England. He had it dismantled and shipped over to Tacoma. Using the manor he created the Tudor Gothic home that is today known as Thornewood Castle. Even cooler, you can have your own Bridgerton experience and stay over night!
