Alright, folks. Now that masks are mandatory in all public buildings, you’re going to need a comfortable, reusable face covering. Maybe even several to match outfits and occasions. Calgary-based company Plains Breaker Apparel is selling bright colourful cloth facemasks for only $5. These things are super soft, fit comfortably, are customizable, and give back too! $1 from every mask goes to charity!


This Calgary-based prairie-proud apparel brand is now selling comfortable reusable face masks, and they’re on sale! They come in 4 different colour combinations and are made with cotton and a Double Layer ChitoSante Mesh so they’re super comfortable and soft. Also, they’re made so that you can also add a filter if you choose to so that’s pretty cool!

Hippo Hug is another Calgary Company that was originally in the business of weighted blankets. Now they also make cotton facemasks for sale in bulk. All masks are washable, are made to fit comfortably and can fit over an N95 mask if necessary. Get 5 for $30 or $10 for 57!

Fashion and function. 17th Avenues Blondie Boutique is well known for being a bit over the top, and their face masks are no exception. Bottom line, they’re super cute – but they also work, and that’s what’s important, right? They come in a variety of colours and patterns and are made with cotton, so they’re incredibly soft.

Kate Hewko is a fashion designer from right here in YYC. Her cloth masks are super cute, locally made, and are comfortable. She’s also selling PPE bucket hats, that are just as functional as they are adorably strange looking. These babies are going pretty quickly though, so check them out while you still can!

Purr is one of Calgary’s favourite local boutiques. Right now they’re selling funky reversible facemask in an array of colours and patterns. Their face coverings are all made locally, AND, $5 of every mask is donated to the Brenda Strafford Society, a foundation that supports women and children who have been a victim of domestic abuse.

Oke’s reusable facemasks are by far the most protective on this list. Made with anti-microbial silver infused cotton fibres, and a replaceable cotton filter, these masks will help filter the air on the way in, and on the way out. Fancy. Also, 20% of the profits made from their sales will go to support The Covid-19 Community Response Fund, and that’s something we can really get behind.
