Halloween is right around the corner and all of the year’s best autumnal events are in full swing. From haunted houses to wholesome hikes there are a ton of really fun things to check out over the next few days. Not sure where to start? Here are 10 things to do in Calgary this week!
WANDER HAUNTED CALGARY
There’s really nothing creepier than a parking garage after dark, is there? The answer is no, so with that, we encourage you to check out Haunted Calgary – a terrifying-(ly safe) event held at the Horizon Mall in Balzac. This week, walk through an ominous space full of surprises, but beware! You never know what might be lurking around the corner!

EAT YOUR WAY THROUGH PASTA LA FEASTA
Comfort food season is back! For those like us, forever thinking about sauce-covered goodness, consider yourselves seen, heard and taken care of because this month Pasta La Feasta returns, celebrating the very best in Calgary’s growing carb scene. Showcasing 19 different restaurants city-wide, Pasta La Feasta will run through the entirety of October – check out the link above to see who’s participating!

BRAVE SCREAMFEST
Get scared silly this week! Screamest – the city’s largest event powered by spooks, frights, freaks and fun is back. Wander through haunted houses, play games, check out their many vendors and grab a bite at one of the many food trucks. It’s going to be chilling!

Want to do something a little more wholesome? This week why not wander Calgary’s newest October event, Pumpkins After Dark – a one-of-a-kind shindig featuring more gourds that you could bake, carve or bash in an entire lifetime., It’s going to be magical!

POINT YOUR EYES TO THE SKIES FOR THE ORIONIDS METEOR SHOWER
Manifest a clear sky, folks! This week junior astronomers are encouraged to keep their eyes on the skies for the Orionids Meteor Shower Peak, where around 20 ‘shooting stars’ will be visible per hour

STROLL THROUGH A PUMPKIN PATCH
Soak up the sun, friends! This week, toss on your autumn best and wander the fields of orange under the sun. Grab a hot chocolate, pick the perfect gourd and go home and make a pie or something. RUN THROUGH A FIELD OF SCREAMS
Celebrating another season of ‘spine-tingling’ fun, Cobb’s has also teamed up with the folks behind Screamfest to totally transform their 20 acres of land from family-friendly to fantastically freaky. Field of Screams is back. folks and from macabre-clad actors to gory decor, Calgarians who are looking to get into the spirit of things are encouraged to check out their 6 haunted houses, activities and petting zoo every weekend this month.

GO HIKING
There’s not a whole lot of fall left, folks, so it’s best you get out and soak up the sun!
