POP SOME CORN AT CUFF 2022

They’re back, friends! Calgary’s Underground Film Festival returns for another year of incredible cinematography, impressive writing, and local love. Tickets are on sale now – so check ’em out and enjoy! It’s going to be a good year, we can feel it!

CHECK OUT A NEW RESTAURANT 

Not sure where to do dinner this week? How about checking out one – or all of Calgary’s newest restaurants. From take-out to dine-ins perfect for a celebration or date night, above are just a few places that have recently opened in YYC.

HIT THE GLENBOW MUSEUM’S SATTELITE EXHIBITION SPACE

It’s here! While there’s no stand-in for the real thing, Calgary’s Glenbow Museum’s FREE short-term exhibition space in the Edison comes pretty dang close, featuring art from all over the world and right here in Calgary.

GET LOST AT TELUS SPARK

This week, say bon voyage to reality at Telus Sparks Quantum sandbox exhibit. From bright colors to unusual shapes, almost every projection within this 3,000-square-foot playground will move and change along with guests as they walk, run and step from corner to corner.

TAKE A HIKE

In need of some fresh air? This week, as long as the weather cooperates, why not treat yourself to a stunning spring hike in Alberta’s Rocky Mountains. Check the link above for our favorites!

OR A BOOZY STAYCATION

No matter what mother nature throws our way this week, Fairmont’s Tipsy Parrot Pop-up will make you feel like you’re on a tropical vacay with boozy sips, Caribbean snacks, and themed decor. Why not check it out – there are only two more weeks left!

PRETEND YOU’RE AT THE SISTINE CHAPEL

So you haven’t hit Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition yet? What a shame! Luckily, there’s still time. This week why not check it out and wander a stunning art installation that has already made a splash all over the world. It’s Calgary’s turn now, and you won’t’ want to miss it!

ENJOY DINNER AND A VIEW

Cross your fingers for beautiful weather, and grab a bite where the views are 10/10. From mountain ranges, valleys, and lakes Alberta is home to some of the world’s most beautiful restaurants – and early spring is a great time to check them out.

CATCH THE  DAZZLING LYRID METEOR SHOWER

Look up! This week, as long as the clouds have parted, Calgarians will be able to catch the Lyrid shower – though, if you want to double your chances, we’d recommend taking a drive out of the city – or just waiting until it peaks on the 22nd.

CELEBRATE TRADITION AND LOCAL BUSINESSES

Another food event? You betcha! This time around check out one of the many restaurants participating in the first-ever Filipino Restaurant month – a delicious celebration of traditional food and local businesses. Hurry – there’s not much time left!

WANDER CONTEMPORARY CALGARY

Another season is here, which means new featured artists are being featured at Contemporary Calgary – a modern museum with wide-open spaces and many a tale to tell.  The best part? Admission is only $10 – so get a coffee, grab a friend and enjoy!
