Howdy, Vancouver! We hope that you’ve enjoyed the week and are ready to go for another weekend of fun things to do around the city. We’ve got some high temperatures in store but hopefully, a little bit of relief compared to weeks past. So, let’s see how we can make the most of it!

Here are 10 things to do around Vancouver this weekend.

Visit a U-Pick Farm

Ready to get out into nature? Well, if you check out a nearby U-Pick farm, you’ll also have a little something to take home afterwards! If you’re wondering where to start, then we’ve rounded up some of our absolute favourites around the city.

Or a Lavender Farm

Not really into picking berries? No problem, because a couple of lavender farms around the city are currently in full bloom! This weekend we’re recommending the aptly named Full Bloom Lavender Farm, which is family run and located out in Langley.

When: Open throughout the weekend
Where: 2926 248th Street, Langley
Cost: $7.91

Check out the Rec Room

After months of waiting, the first Rec Room located in BC has opened! This unique arcade and entertainment concept offers dozens of games to explore, ranging from classics like Pong to state-of-the-art driving simulators to pool tables. Plus, a new ‘adults-only’ Cineplex VIP Cinemas has opened in the same space!

When: Now open!
Where: The Amazing Brentwood, 1920 Willingdon Avenue, Burnaby

Have a Greek Feast

Greek Summerfest is back, folks! Things are looking a little different this year, as they’ve opted for an order online/pickup setting itself of the classic street vendor stalls. Either this, this is a great opportunity to get authentic Greek food (hint: great for summer). Make sure to try the loukoumades!

When: July 9th to July 11th
Where: 4541 Boundary Road

Hit the beach

Now that things aren’t so intensely hot, we think a quick trip to the beach is the perfect way to spend a day on the weekend. If you’re looking for a new place to visit, we’ve rounded up some of our favourites around the city. After all, Kits is gonna be absolutely jumping!

Go on a quick camping trip

Without a doubt, a camping trip pretty much anywhere in BC is always a must for outdoors enthusiasts. Whether you’re sticking close to home or exploring our province’s wild side, there are tons of options waiting out there for you, including the iconic Joffre Lakes campsite.

Splash around at Cultus Lake Waterpark

The Cultus Lake Waterpark is a destination that’s more than worth the drive. While it too has an amusement park option, the waterpark is the obvious pick here. Hurtle down some super-fast slides, lounge around in the lazy river, and enjoy a classic summer option!

When: Open throughout July
Where: 4150 Columbia Valley Hwy, Cultus Lake

Cool off in a unique way

Looking to cool off in a way that we guarantee none of your friends have? Then you need to make the drive out to the Britannia Mine Museum. Included in your visit of the historic site is an underground tour taking you deep into the mine. And guess what? It’s considerably colder than whatever the outside temp is. Natural A/C, folks!

When: Open daily
Where: 150 Copper Drive, Britannia Beach
Cost: $36.95

Check out the Powell Street Festival

This iconic festival has returned for the entire month of July! There are both virtual and in-person events to check out, but we’d lying if we said their food options weren’t the major reason we want to swing by.

When: On throughout the week
Where: Online/Various locations around the city
Cost: Free/Varies

Polygon Gallery- Interior Infinite

If you haven’t guessed, we’re big fans of this by-donation art gallery in North Van. The latest exhibition is Interior Infinite, which is a collection of 15 Canadian and international contemporary artists across a wide range of mediums.

When: Open throughout July
Where: 101 Carrie Cates Court, North Vancouver
Cost: By donation

That’s our roundup for this weekend. Have fun out there!
